The training provides specialists with an opportunity to develop their skills in data analysis and evidence-based decision-making — competencies that are increasingly in demand both in the business sector and beyond.
“Today, success depends not only on the ability to collect data, but also on the ability to interpret it and draw meaningful conclusions,” said Liina Kanter, Head of the Educational Innovation Department at Harno. “Fact-based and data-driven management helps companies and other organisations create greater value for society. Only then can we make decisions that are truly smart and have a lasting impact.”
One of the programme’s objectives is to increase gender diversity in the ICT sector, where the share of women remains low. Broader participation of women contributes to greater diversity and brings new perspectives, thereby supporting innovation and creativity.
During the course, participants will improve their knowledge of data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and learn to use modern tools such as Excel, SQL, and Python. The training aims to strengthen participants’ ability to apply data in decision-making and to use it for organisational development.
The programme focuses on developing analytical thinking and evidence-based decision-making skills, thereby helping to enhance Estonia’s workforce data literacy and digital capability. The training lasts 3 to 5 months, is implemented by AS BCS Koolitus, and is funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU initiative.
The activity is financed under the Recovery and Resilience Facility component “Digital Transformation of Enterprises” (Reform 2: Skills Reform for Enterprise Digitalisation) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Research and Harno.
The Education and Youth Board (Harno) is a government agency whose mission is to ensure that every person in Estonia — child, young person, or adult — has access to high-quality, modern, and inclusive learning opportunities. One of Harno’s goals is to increase the competitiveness of Estonia’s workforce. To this end, Harno develops and coordinates several digital education initiatives such as Inseneriakadeemia, IT Akadeemia, and ProgeTiiger, which promote engineering, IT, and digital competence at all levels of education.
