The Study in Europe test got more than 50,000 users in 2021 and the game made it to the shortlist (TOP 4) of the Digital Communication Awards 2022.
„Europe is the world's most popular study abroad destination. While biggest countries are top destinations, European Commission wants to show the diversity and the quality of education in all European countries. We made a test to raise the awareness of European diversity by showing to the global audience that all European countries can be great study destinations,“ commented Eero Loonurm, the Head of Estonian Higher Education International Marketing.
“It is a great recognition to be in the finals of one of the top European creativity contests, commented Helena Alekand, Marketing and Communications Manager for „Study in Europe“. „Both for the European Commission and for the Estonian Education and Youth Board. Mostly people know only the biggest European countries, but our aim was to give a wider picture of all European countries with great education systems and great universities.“
„The idea was implemented in cooperation with the Estonian Education and Youth Board’s team,“ commented Magnus Lužkov, the Head of Optimist Creative. „The jury liked the simplicity and great results. There are plenty of games and tests available to show European countries as tourist destinations, but there was something missing that would show Europe as the most popular and diverse study destination in the world.“

The Estonian Education and Youth Board and its partners won the European Higher Education Area Marketing procurement that was announced by the European Commission. The national higher education promotion initiative "Study in Estonia" teamed up with Higher Education national promotion agencies from Germany, France and the Netherlands, as well as the pan-European think tank Academic Cooperation Association. The project is part of a broader initiative from the European Commission to enhance the internationalisation of European higher education.
Study in Estonia is a cooperation initiative that introduces Estonia as a country offering high quality higher education opportunities. All Estonian institutions of higher education, at which it is possible to study in at least one program that is taught fully in English and is internationally recognised, can participate in the programme. The activities of Study in Estonia are coordinated by the Estonian Education and Youth Board in the framework of the Dora Pluss program, which is being realised via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and with the aid of EU structural support.
